Board of Commissioners
RIRRC is governed by a Board of Commissioners. The composition of the Board of Commissioners is determined by RI state law. The Board consists of seven members of the general public, two of whom must reside in the Town of Johnston. The Governor of the State of Rhode Island submits a list of Board nominees to the Rhode Island Senate for their Advice and Consent. The Senate conducts hearings in the Judiciary Committee, which if the nominees are approved, passes the names on to the full Senate for confirmation. The Governor's Director of Administration holds an Ex-Officio seat on the Board as a non-voting member.
