Resource Recovery Receives Conservation Certification from Wildlife Habitat Council

JOHNSTON, RI—Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (Resource Recovery) has received Conservation Certification from the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) for its efforts to conserve and enhance habitat surrounding the Central Landfill. WHC is a national organization that promotes and certifies habitat conservation and management on corporate lands.  The quasi-public agency’s 2016 Conservation Certification was announced at the WHC’s annual conference in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 3.

RISD Joins Resource Recovery’s Effort to Standardize Rhode Island’s Recycling Bins

JOHNSTON, RI—Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (Resource Recovery) today announced a partnership with Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) to increase recycling levels and decrease confusion at the recycling bin. As a result of the collaboration, RISD will feature Rhode Island’s Recycle Across America (RAA) labels on recycling bins campus-wide. RISD is the latest institution to adopt the standardized label solution for recycling bins since Rhode Island became the first state in the nation to adopt them on Earth Day.
