When funding is available and approved by the Board of Commissioners, Resource Recovery provides grant support to Rhode Island K–12 schools to help cover transportation costs for students attending full facility tours of our operations. These free tours give students a firsthand look at how recyclable materials are sorted, how waste is managed at the Central Landfill, and how these efforts contribute to long-term environmental stewardship.
