PaintCare invites Rhode Island households and businesses to attend a paint drop off event on Saturday, May 4 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Pier Middle School located at 235 South Pier Road in Narragansett. Only Rhode Island households and businesses may participate in this event. For households, there are no limits on the amount of house paint, stain or varnish dropped off. Resource Recovery Announces Upcoming OSHA Training Schedule

Did you know Recourse Recovery is one the newest OSHA training Institute (OTI) Education Center? We were selected through a competitive process based on our outstanding occupational safety and health training successes. This fall the following courses will be offered: Globally Harmonized System (GHS), Transitioning to Safer Chemicals, Cranes in Construction. Preregistration is required. Materials accepted include: paper for shredding (three box limit), electronics (computers, printers, monitors, TVs, anything with a plug), Freon appliances ($10/unit), clothing, textiles, and scrap metal (see Narragansett Recycling Website for more information). Eco-Depot to Offer Shredding at September 29 Collection in Newport

JOHNSTON, RI (August 28, 2018) – To provide residents with more opportunities to properly recycle intact sensitive documents, Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (Resource Recovery) will offer shredding services along with household hazardous waste collection at the September 29 Eco-Depot in Newport. The collection will be held at Easton’s Beach located at 175 Memorial Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This special event is available free of charge to Rhode Island residents only. To help reduce time spent in line, appointments should be made in advance for household hazard waste collection only. Appointments are not required for shredding.

Resource Recovery Wins Prestigious Industry Award for Let’s recycle RIght!® Campaign

JOHNSTON, RI (June 14, 2018) – The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has named Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (Resource Recovery) winner of the 2018 Gold Excellence Award in the Awareness Campaign category. This is the highest award given for an awareness campaign by the industry association. The Excellence Awards Program recognizes the creation and implementation of outstanding education campaigns relating to solid waste management across North America. The award will be presented at SWANA’s annual conference, WASTECON®, on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee.
