 Appliances (large/white goods without Freon): Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility. OR, these items are picked up twice per month, curbside for a fee of $21 per item. Schedule a pickup by calling Waste Management at 1-800-972-4545.

 Auto Batteries: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility.

 Bulky Rigid Plastic: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility.

 Bulky Waste: These items are picked up twice per month, curbside, for a fee of $19 per item. Schedule a pickup by calling Waste Management at 1-800-972-4545.

 Cardboard: All flattened cardboard must fit inside of the recycling cart, with the lid closed. Cardboard that does not fit can be dropped off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility.

 Carpeting/Rugs: These items are picked up twice per month, curbside, for a fee of $19 per item. Schedule a pickup by calling Waste Management at 1-800-972-4545.

 Christmas Trees: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility during the first 2 Wednesdays & Saturdays of January ONLY. No plastic bags permitted.

 Clothing/Textiles: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility or into the Big Brothers Big Sisters of RI bin at the Old DPW, 65 Union Avenue, Harrisville.

 E-waste: Free at yearly town events, usually in conjunction with the yearly Eco-Depot hazardous waste day. Visit the Compost Facility Calendar or call DPW for updates.

 Extra Recycling: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility.

 Furniture: These items are picked up twice per month, curbside, for a fee of $19 per item. Schedule a pickup by calling Waste Management at 1-800-972-4545.

 Ink Cartridges: Drop off at the New DPW for donation to the Burrillville Lions Club. 

 Leaf & Yard Waste: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility. Brush must be 3” diameter and cut in 5’ lengths or less. Place leaves in paper bags only.

 Mattresses & Box Springs: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility.

 Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility. 5 gallon limit for motor oil.

 Paper for Shredding: Free at yearly town events. Visit the Compost Facility Calendar or call DPW for updates.

 Scrap Metal: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility.

 Small Appliances (no Freon): Typically electric items with a cord, if made primarily out of metal, can be dropped off with scrap metal. 

 Tires: Drop off at the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility. Limit of 4; must be off the rim. No tires bigger than a tractor trailer tire.
