Recycling Event: (Narragansett and South Kingstown)

Narragansett Beach North Pavilion, 77 Boston Neck Road (Town Beach)  The Town of Narragansett and South Kingstown invite residents to a Recycling Event on April  23 from 8 AM to 12 PM. The event will be held in the Narragansett Beach North Pavilion. Materials accepted include: paper for shredding , electronics (computers, printers, monitors, TVs, anything with a plug), clothing, textiles and scrap metal (see Narragansett Recycling Website for more information). This event is for Narragansett and South Kingstown residents only. Residential document shredding, no business shredding.  An Eco-Depot for Household Hazardous Waste will be happening concurrently. To celebrate Earth Day on April 22, Resource Recovery will be hosting a youth art contest open to all Rhode Island students grades K - 12! Submissions should showcase the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling here in RI. To help students get their creative juices flowing, below are some suggestions for artwork such as an image that reflects: 

Eco-Depot: Providence

Household hazardous waste is anything labeled with a skull and crossbones, or words like 'toxic', 'poison', 'flammable', 'combustible', etc. Examples include mercury devices, automotive fluids, fertilizers, pesticides, pool chemicals, and polishes.  Appointments are made to prevent everyone from showing up at once, which reduces wait time in line. We try to service 25 cars every 15 minutes—you won’t even need to get out of your vehicle!
